A11. SOME NON-SI UNITS IN COMMON USE
It is recognized that some non-SI units are widely used and are expected to continue to be used for many years. So, the CIPM has accepted some non-SI units for use with the SI; a few of the more commonly met are tabulated below.
Working with these non-SI units loses some advantages of the SI. The SI prefixes can be used with some of these units, but not, for example, with the non-SI units of time.
