 A8.  SOME OF THE 22 DERIVED SI UNITS WITH SPECIAL NAMES & SYMBOLS 

The final entry in the Table 2. on page 5 relates to electric charge and its unit which carries
a special name, the coulomb.  In fact, 22 of the coherent derived units in the SI (as of 2019,) are
given special names.  In Table 4. below, nine of those commonly met in the Sciences to 16+
are listed along with five other units generally encountered at more advanced stages.

* The degree Celsius is used to express Celsius temperatures.  The numerical value of a temperature difference or temperature interval is the same when expressed in either degrees Celsius or in kelvin.

Note that where the derived name for an SI unit symbol commemorates a famous scientist, then the letter (or first letter) used to denote the symbol is capitalized, as in a proper noun.
